Why SafaTalents?
In Arabic, Safa means clarity, purity, also gentle mobility. An old gender-neutral name that evokes feelings of peacefulness and innocence. In Hebrew, Safa means language, shore and sheath.
SafaTalents stands for talents that are allowed to change –
beyond conventions, embedded in their bodies, culture and context.
SafaTalents was born out of my many years of experience in international consulting on change and talent development and my journeys throughout the Arab world. My experiences were shaped by this view of potential and its development opportunities in people and cultures. This led to the gradual development of the various activities of SafaTalents.
The idea behind SafaTalents
The activities surrounding SafaTalents appear to be very diverse. Looking closer, it becomes clear that they all follow the same idea of transformation and growth.
transformation & growth
women & talents
across cultures
embodiment & coaching
development & projects
movement & performance art
storytelling & media
The activities take place at different levels – individual, collective and structural – and they use different methods and environments. They highlight aspects and attempt to find answers to the same questions:
- How can we provide the space for our personal development and the growth of our societies?
- How can we open up to see and celebrate the different talents around us while acknowledging the differences and privileges that we hold?
- How can we support connection between us individually and as communities?
- How can we express ourselves and tell our stories to share and learn from each other?

Me and SafaTalents
I love creating a space where people and ideas can flourish. In the last years, I discovered the depth of the body and how the different layers of our thoughts, feelings, emotions, energies and sensations drive us. The practice of yoga and authentic movement were especially influential for my personal growth and the development of a holistic view. I studied the transformational role of embodiment to become a coach. My special interest and focus is on how we are experiencing and mastering transitions.
Moving together with performance artists became a great way for me to explore interactions and transformation in public spaces. Creating something new drives me and allows me to be creative. In the best case, it involves a team of diverse people implementing ideas and projects together.
I feel at home in many places but besides my origins in Europe, I feel deeply connected to Asia, especially West Asia aka the Middle East. Traveling and staying in these regions gave me a sense of my own past as a European citizen in terms of heritage and our colonial responsibilities. I underwent a personal transformation by widening my limited Western perspectives into new horizons. These experiences include many aspects and especially our cultural and ecological interconnections.
It must be the first time ever that I wait until the third paragraph to mention that I am a woman and a proud feminist. Wherever I go, patriarchy is a common, varying only in different shades. Including a feminist agenda into my work has been a constant companion since my school days. My perspective however developed over the years and I am full-heartedly supporting the agenda of postcolonial feminism.
In my work, I use multiple professional roles as an embodiment coach, psychologist, talent guide, project developer, journalist and performance artist . I see it as a privilege to put on different perspectives and having obtained various competencies. They are complementing each other and I love playing and making use of them in an impactful way.
I look forward to hearing from you!
